It seems like rugby league cannot get away from COVID-19 at present.

With the virus wreaking havoc through the sport, yet another fixture has been postponed this weekend with Sheffield Eagles’ clash with York City Knights the latest to fall victim.

Under the RFL’s COVID-19 protocols, a team can apply to postpone a match if seven or more senior players are unavailable as a result of COVID-19 – either through positive tests or as close contacts. Unfortunately, Sheffield Eagles have exceeded this threshold.

The postponed fixture will be added to the list for possible rearrangement, although the league table is determined by win points percentage to allow for the possibility of not all fixtures being fulfilled.
