Another fantastic tribute to Leeds Rhinos legend Rob Burrow confirmed

This morning the Rob Burrow Leeds marathon was confirmed.

Taking place on Sunday 14th May 2023, the new event has been inspired by Kevin Sinfield OBE’s running challenges for friend and team mate Rob, and will be staged in partnership with Leeds City Council.

This brand new marathon will honour Leeds Rhinos legend Rob Burrow MBE and help raise vital funds for The Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease Centre Appeal, as well as the MND Association. The route will start and end at Headingley Stadium and 7,777 entries will be available, in honour of Rob’s shirt number at Leeds Rhinos.

Burrow was diagnosed with MND in December 2019 and this marathon represents the latest in a long line of tributes to the former Super League star.

His former skipper the aforementioned Sinfield ran seven marathons in seven days for Burrow in 2020 before running 101 miles in 24 hours as he goes above and beyond for Burrow who last week received his MBE.

Now anyone can do their bit to help Burrow and raise awareness for MND by entering this marathon next year.
