Andy Last reveals communication with Lee Radford and what he has been doing in Samoa

Castleford Tigers went down 26-10 to Featherstone Rovers today in the last rugby league game of the year.

However, the young Tigers did themselves proud with young halfbacks Jacob Hookem and Jack Broadbent, who admittedly is more likely to play in the backline moving forward, shining alongside other young players in the Tigers line up today.

They were filling in for their senior counterparts today whilst Andy Last filled in for Head Coach Lee Radford who is in Samoa enjoying some deserved time off after helping Samoa to the Rugby League World Cup Final.

Last revealed the communication he has had with Radford and what Radford has been doing in Samoa.

He said on Tigers TV: “He has messaged me a couple of times, he wished us good luck yesterday and I said, ‘well we have the team run so hopefully we won’t need some luck to get through that.’

“I switched my phone off today, I’m sure we will get some contact from him over the next few days.

“I will give him a full report on how today went and I’m sure he will give us a full report on how the sun lounging has been in Samoa.”
