Last night the New Year’s Honours List was revealed and Leeds Rhinos legend Kevin Sinfield was not included.
The legendary player who has now raised millions in the fight against Motor Neurone Disease running seven ultramarathons in seven days in 2022 having run 101 miles in one day last year and seven marathons in a week in 2020.
All of this has been done in the name in the name of former teammate and good friend Rob Burrow.
In fact over £7 million has been raised by Sinfield against MND but he remains only an OBE despite calls for him to receive a Knighthood and finally be Sir Kevin Sinfield.
There has been some suggestion that he is ineligible given that he only recently received an OBE.
Nonetheless, people are still unhappy.
Leeds fans were on it instantly last night:
I have to say that the honours list this year is absolutely appalling. Firstly, all the Lionesses team should of got a MBE, the England RL Wheelchair team should of been recognised and Kevin Sinfield should of been a Sir.

Others described it as “an absolute disgrace.”
Sorry but not having Kevin Sinfield in the New Years honours list is nothing short of an absolute disgrace. Can only hope it’s an error quickly rectified.

Some claimed he deserved one for his on field achievements alone and especially after his work against MND.
That Kevin Sinfield has not been given a knighthood in the #NewYearsHonours is disgraceful. He deserved one for his achievements on the field alone, but what he has done over the last three years for his friend Rob Burrow and the entire MND community is nothing short of amazing.

It’s safe to say, fans were shocked.
Could anyone tell me how on earth Kevin Sinfield has been overlooked AGAIN in the New Year's Honours List? It makes a completely mockery of the entire system when someone so deserving of the highest recognition is ignored.

And many felt he should have been the first name on the list.
No knighthood for Kevin Sinfield. He would have been the first name on my list #NewYearsHonours

Whilst others described it as simply “shocking.”
It should be SIR Kevin Sinfield after the new year, BUT nothing at all.
He should be giving out the medals 🎖
Shocking…
Honouring the best ? My ass.

Others felt it went against the system’s purpose.
Looking at some of the stellar names on the honours list and not seeing Kevin Sinfield's, who has pushed himself to limits most people couldn't conceive of, for his mate and the wider MND community, is exactly what the honours system is all about.

Whilst others felt it was simply “wrong.”
