St Helens impressed in Australia over the weekend.
The Saints defeated St George Illawarra Dragons 30-18. Yes it was a St George team without some of their key players but it was still a real statement win for the Super League Champions as the likes of Jack Welsby and Lewis Dodd shone.
The win also saw them pick up two bonus points in the Pre-Season Challenge competition down under which carries a $100,000 prize.
The Saints take on Penrith Panthers next week in the World Club Challenge in the second game of the two.
It is a huge game and can watched on Channel 4 and Sky Sports speaking of TV coverage, the win over St George had a huge TV audience in Australia with a total of 178,000 fans tuning in to see the Super League Champions on Fox.
This was above the average and dwarfed some over games including Penrith’s won which only had an audience of 169,000 according to the Daily Telegraph.
