Alex Walmsley’s testimonial jersey revealed

If anyone has epitomised St Helens’ success over the last decade it’s been Alex Walmsley.

Since joining the club from Championship Batley, he’s developed into one of the world’s best props and certainly Super League’s best prop.

He’s been the backbone of St Helens’ three consecutive titles and was also key to their 2014 title triumph as well.

A four time Super League Champion, a three-time League Leaders’ Shield winner and a now a Challenge Cup winner thanks to Wembley success in 2021, the England international has done everything and deserves his testimonial and has now released his own testimonial jersey.

He unveiled the shirt on Twitter and it speaks to the role St Helens’ have played in his career with the shirt adopting the traditional white and red design of St Helens’ jerseys with a unique spin on it.

On revealing the shirt, Walmsley said: “Really proud to be able to announce my testimonial warm up jersey for next week’s game. I want to thank all my sponsors who have supported me. I hope everyone likes it.”

The shirt will be worn ahead of next Friday’s clash with Leigh as the Saints celebrate a player who has been key to their recent success.
