Albert Kelly produces stunning performance on return

Castleford Hull combined team

Kevin Walters’ decision to call up Albert Kelly to replace Anthony Milford was justified as the veteran proved his coach right in his side’s shock 34-16 win over the Roosters.

Kelly finished with 43 run metres, four tackle busts, an offload, a linebreak and a try assist in a superb Broncos debut.

Kelly was playing in his first NRL game in 2,505 days, with the last of his 47 matches coming back in 2014 for the Titans, but it seemed as though he had never been away.

Broncos coach Kevin Walters waxed lyrical about Kelly in his post-match conference.

“Albert Kelly tonight did some really good things tonight with the ball,” Walters said.

“He showed his class and his experience at different times in the game.
