Alan Shearer sends brilliant message to Leeds Rhinos legend Rob Burrow

Rob Burrow has had numerous famous sports stars wish him well over the past few years, but perhaps few have been as famous as Alan Shearer.

Former Newcastle United hero, Shearer has taken on Burrow’s story and watched it closely all the way, purchasing his autobiography.

And, now he has revealed on Twitter that he has finished reading the book once more.

Shearer tweeted: “Had to read it again @Rob7Burrow Heart of a Lion.”

Meanwhile, Burrow and his family have taken another fundraising step by announcing a surprising Strictly Come Dancing show for Motor Neurone Disease.

It will all be in the name of the MND Association as Burrow continues to try and raise as much money as possible against the horrific disease, recruiting a number of celebrities to pick up their dancing shoes and get on that wooden floor.

The event is being set up by Jo and Claire – who are Rob’s sisters – and of course they are raising money for the Rob Burrow Centre for MND with Leeds Rhinos legend Barrie McDermott included.

Burrow’s battle against Motor Neurone Disease and his subsequent fight to raise as much money as possible has largely fallen on the shoulders of long-term friend Kevin Sinfield who not only completed seven marathons in seven days but ran 101 miles in just 24 hours, raising over Β£4 million in total.
