The Salford Star are reporting that the AJ Bell Stadium, home to Salford Red Devils and rugby union club Sale Sharks, will receive a loan of up to £632,500 from Salford City Council.
Astonishingly, the loans total from the Council to the AJ Bell will now rise to almost £25 million.
At the end of March last year, there was an outstanding loan of £16.678 million for the construction of the stadium as well as £7.442 million for ‘operational funding’.
The loan of £632,500 will also go down as ‘operational funding’ and the amount of money loaned to the stadium will go up to a whopping £24.752 million.
Salford Star also reported that the stadium company made a £1.459 million loss last year, a dramatic fall from their profit of £671,000 a year prior.

Ir’s a pity that Koukash inherited this problem. I agree that it was a massive mistake.
