Aidan Sezer provides update ahead of Leeds Rhinos move

Aidan Sezer will be a Leeds Rhinos player in 2022, and he has posted a farewell on his social media to teammates and fans of his previous club Huddersfield Giants.

The former Canberra Raiders halfback made the move to the John Smith’s Stadium ahead of the 2020 Super League season, thriving in a new environment.

Sezer was utterly brilliant in his first year for Huddersfield, making the shortlist for the Man of Steel end-of-season awards – though he eventually lost out to Castleford’s Paul McShane.

However, an injury-hit 2021 left the diminutive halfback on the periphery at the Giants, and Leeds soon came calling.

24 appearances later and Sezer has now made the trip across West Yorkshire, saying goodbye to Huddersfield in the process.

Sezer, on his farewell, said: “Thankyou @giantsrl_official, supporters and all my teammates for the past couple of years, I’ve had a ball.. Onto the next chapter. ✌️”

A two-year deal at eight-time Super League champions Leeds beckons, with Sezer predicted to start in the halves with Luke Gale, whilst Blake Austin takes up the utility tag around the side.
