This week saw the stunning news that Jack Walker was leaving Leeds to take on a one-year deal at Bradford in 2023.

Walker, who was once regarded as the most promising fullback in Super League, has been plagued by injury for the last few seasons and in search of guaranteed game time and building his career back up has backed himself with a move to the Championship and according to his agent Craig Harrison, this could snowball into further business and make Bradford real contenders in 2023.

Speaking on the Show Me The Money Rugby League TV: Inside the deal, Harrison said: “I’ve had a few players already say to me, if Jack is going there, put me down for Bradford. Bradford are hoping this snowballs.

“We don’t know if Fev are going to spend the amount of money they usually do, Toulouse are quiet. Why aren’t Bradford talking about winning it? Because if there’s no one spending 1.2 million, anyone can win it. Bradford are the biggest club in the Championship.”

He went further than this saying that he believes a number of Leeds players could follow Walker to Bradford due to the close relationship between the clubs: “I think Bradford are going to be very close with Leeds this year, I’d say Bradford are going to get three or four players from Leeds.

“Why are Bradford not talking about winning this, you in a team playing good football, exciting for Bradford fans to see a player of your ability show them what they can do.”

So, more signings to come at Odsal from their nearest and dearest, from their once bitter rivals, the Leeds Rhinos.

Who knows, maybe this could see them achieve promotion back to Super League.
