Leeds Rhinos Head Coach Richard Agar admitted that his side were too “sloppy” in attack as they were defeated 28-10 by Wigan Warriors.
Agar was left unimpressed as he claimed too many handling errors cost his side dear as Leeds fell to back-to-back defeats.
He said. “We dropped far too much ball tonight.
“We had plenty of opportunities. You have to take them and unfortunately, we did not.
“Our focus this week will be on the handling errors. I thought that was poor on our behalf.
“I did think Wigan were solid in defence though. They were very difficult to breakdown and made hard work for us.
“However, we do have to turn more pressure into points and that is something we will be hoping to correct when we return after the Challenge Cup.”
The defeat means Leeds drop out of the top four for the first time since before lockdown.
Despite the result, Agar did praise the efforts of certain individuals.
“Bodene Thompson made his debut for us tonight and I thought he had a good impact,” Agar added.
“Tom Holroyd came in as well and did a good job as did the likes of Brad Dwyer and Konrad Hurrell, who also returned from injury.
“However, we just have to be smarter. We will have a good sit down and think how to come back better for when we face Salford in two weeks’ time.”
