Agar opens up on star’s serious battle with COVID

Zane Tetevano will be ready to play for Leeds tonight as the Rhinos travel to Hull FC.

But, it’s been a long time coming for the loose-forward after having, what Agar called, a “frustrating” start to his career in West Yorkshire.

“He’s had a real stop start beginning to his Leeds career which has been frustrating for him, but he’s had a pretty major impact around the place with his ethic and smartness so he’s a very much missed player,” Agar said.

“Hopefully from here on in we will get some consistent football out of him.”

The Leeds boss revealed that not only has Tetevano been struggling with injury, COVID hit him quite seriously.

“COVID hit him pretty hard – he really struggled with it, more than the majority of our players so his return to play was a little bit longer than we would have liked

“He returned to training with an Achilles twinge but it’ll be good to get him back and he’s a very welcome addition to the squad.”
