Adrian Lam on kickstarting Leigh Leopards season following win at Castleford Tigers

Leigh Leopards boss Adrian Lam

Leigh Leopards boss Adrian Lam admitted that he’s hoping his side can push on following their victory at Castleford Tigers on Saturday night.

The Leopards ran out 20-6 winners at The Jungle but Lam said he’s still expecting more from his players.

That win moved Leigh up into fifth place and with some fixtures against 2025’s struggling sides to come this month, they could capitalise on the top sides playing each other.

Lam spoke to Sky Sports after his side’s win, stating that he’s happy with the win, he’s hoping there’s more to come from his Leopards squad.

He said: “It’s always a tough place to come and play, we’ve got to respect that they’re struggling in certain areas of the game.

“We needed to come here and keep improving from the last two weeks so I’m pretty happy with the result.”

Leigh’s start to 2025 has been slow and steady but head coach Lam is all about them progressing when and where they can.

That win is their fourth of the Super League season so far, along with a draw and two losses.

The Leigh Leopards boss added: “Obviously it’s a better start than we had last year, it’s going to take some time to build.

“We’re happy with where we’re at, we’ve got an opportunity against Warrington next week but also in the semifinal of the Cup, which will be really difficult.”

Lam is happy for his side to continue to work on their performances as the season goes on but admitted that it’s a long road ahead of them.

He finished: “It’s just about making sure we improve every week with the way that we’re playing.

“We’ve been clunky at times, but that’ll come with time. No doubt we can work hard on that during the season.”

Leigh Leopards host Warrington Wolves on Easter Saturday (19th) with a 1.30pm kick-off.
