Leigh Leopards won the Challenge Cup Final defeating Hull KR at Wembley and a lot of their success has come from signing former Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors, Warrington Wolves and Castleford Tigers stars.
The Leopards have made some great signings over the last few years from Zak Hardaker and Tom Briscoe this year and even the likes of Josh Charnley and Blake Ferguson last year.
But their most important signing was perhaps bringing in Adrian Lam as Head Coach who has been the backbone for their success.
Lam has been tipped to move to the NRL lately and on this, he said on the club’s YouTube:
“That’s what happens I guess when you have that success like we had on the weekend. I’m okay with all of that.
“It was a goal to coach in the NRL one day and hopefully I’ll get back to it at the right time. I’ll let the Gods of Rugby League dictate that.

“I do know that I’m enjoying and loving my time here. I’ve got a lot of good friends here. I feel as coach I’ve got the best job in the world. Every day when I drive in here, the support that I’ve got from Derek Beaumont and Chris Chester and Neil Jukes and all of my players and my leadership group is, I’m a happy coach and I love it here.”
He also had an ominous warning for the rest of Super League:
“So we’re building something really well here and that’s why I said, you know, I think we’ve also, our recruitment for next year and our retention, we’re going to have a better team next year than what we had this year, in my opinion.
“I think we have a five year plan here, we’re heading in the right direction, and there’s more good times ahead. So, I’ll just stick to the day to day basis on that, I’ll allow that NRL stuff to take care of itself, but if it’s meant to go my way, I’m sure discussions are there down in the future, but for now, I’m really happy here, mate.
“I think we’ve brought some great memories and great times to the people living in Leigh and our fans and supporters. And long may that continue. I think we’ve still got a job to do for this year, so I’ll just keep our head down and keep working hard.”
