Adrian Lam delivers fantastic one liner as bizarre moment nearly ruins interview

It will have been a stressful evening for Leigh Leopards boss Adrian Lam.

The Leopards have booked their place in a Challenge Cup semi-final but looked on the road for a shock exit when they trailed at the break 14-6 having been down to 11 at one stage with Zak Hardaker yellow carded after a red for for Kai O’Donnell.

However, a strong finish to the game saw Leigh battle their way to the semi-finals where they will meet Super League and World Champions St Helens.

After the game, Lam naturally gave his thoughts in an interview with Viaplay which was nearly ruined by a pitch invader.

A Leigh fan, he was elated and grabbed Lam and wanted to shake Ryan Brierley’s hand.

Credit to all four involved in the interview, they rode it out as the stewards dealt with the situation.

Lam was particularly hilarious as he said: “It wasn’t Derek was it?”

This of course in reference to Leigh Leopards owner Derek Beaumont.

Beaumont will be elated that they are now just 80 minutes away from Wembley.

That is also true of York who face Batley Bulldogs in the 1895 Cup semi-final.
