Acton hearing delayed for another week

Leigh Centurions 30-0 Huddersfield Giants

Jamie Acton’s Grade F charge hearing has been put back for another week so his legal representative can attend.

Acton was handed the highest charge possible due to ‘other contrary behaviour’ towards Greg Bird, who was laid on the ground after a big collision with Ben Reynolds.

Acton grabbed Bird’s jersey and lifted him while the Australian forward was down injured. There was no punishment on the field for the incident.

The 25-year-old had his case adjourned for the first time on June 4 but now it has been delayed once again so he can have a legal representative at the hearing.

Acton is not allowed to play in Leigh’s match against Huddersfield this Friday, and he has already missed one game – the 50-10 defeat against Warrington.
