Ablett set for Australia move

Leeds Rhinos injury update

Leeds Rhinos stalwart Carl Ablett is reportedly eyeing up a move to Australia at the end of the season.

The second rower is out of contract at the end of this year and was considering an offer to link up with former teammates Jamie Peacock and Danny McGuire at Hull KR after turning down a new deal with the champions.

It seems now, however, that the 32-year-old is set for a switch down under, with Queensland Cup side Burleigh Bears being the likely destination.

The Bears are currently second in the league and also operate as the feeder club to NRL side Gold Coast Titans.

Ablett is reportedly keen to settle down in Oz with his young family, after spending 14 years with Leeds.

In that time he has scored 77 tries in over 300 appearances, as well as winning seven Super League titles, two Challenge Cups and a World Club Challenge.
