“A world class signing” – How social media reacted to Jacques O’Neill’s stunning Super League return

Yesterday the rugby league world was stunned by the return of Jacques O’Neill to Super League.

The hooker rejoins the Castleford Tigers after leaving the club a year ago to go on popular reality TV show Love Island.

Thus the signing has divided opinion but just how did social media react to the news.

Well some fans were keen to welcome him home.

Others said it was good for marketing and with IMG’s grading system now passed growing a brand at a club is all the more important.

However, some fans were more glad to see the club sign someone who will add aggression to the side.

This was echoed by those who felt he will bring some guts to the Tigers.

However inevitably some questioned if it was a late April Fools joke.

One person described the signing as “world class” as they questioned the notion that it was no more than a PR stunt.

Some fans though are fearful he won’t be ready to come back.

Yesterday the Tigers let Jason Qareqare leave on loan to Bradford Bulls and some fans believe the two are connected.

Lastly one supporter claimed that it would increase the female fan base at the club.
