Last night, former Grand Final hero Dom Manfredi appeared in front of the Wigan faithful for the final time as he delivered the match ball ahead of their encounter with Salford.
The winger has been forced to retire earlier after persistent injury problems but will always be remembered for the role he played in the Warriors’ Grand Final success in 2018.
It made for a sombre night at Wigan. Despite that, his former teammates did enough to win the game before the whole rugby league community took to social media to wish Manfredi well including his teammate John Bateman.

Bateman saw him as a brother, the Wigan fans see him as a hero.

Unsurprisingly, many supporters echoed the sentiment with their own tributes to the flyer.
@DomManfredi it’s been a pleasure to watch you play over the years, such a shame that it’s come to an end – all the best!

Others were desperate to wish him well as he faces a life outside of the game following his premature retirement.
All the best Dom.

No matter what lies ahead for Manfredi, last night was certainly a night he’ll remember for the rest of his life.
