“A bottom half team” – Wigan Warriors fans furious following derby defeat

Wigan fans are doing it tough.

In the last six weeks they have averaged 36 points conceded per game and that run has seen them concede 40 points against Catalans Dragons, as the French side took top spot instead of the Warriors, 40 against Leeds Rhinos who sit eighth in the league and 34 against their bitter rivals St Helens.

The Saints leap frogged Wigan for the first time this season with the win.

Wigan fans were certainly not happy.

One fan called for a complete rebuild despite the fact Wigan have some of the biggest stars in Super League and are currently the Challenge Cup holders.

Wigan looked like the team to beat over Easter. One fan questioned what happened as he labelled the display pathetic.

That said one fan still backed them to be Champions at the end of the year given the nature of the competition:

Wigan have only won once in the league since the international break which one fan pointed out as he branded them as “terrible.”

Another fan claimed that without Field and French they would be in the bottom half. Again harsh given the calibre of some of their players.

Another supporter felt that Wigan are struggling because of the number of changes they keep making to their 17.

St Helens were also poor in the mind of one Wigan fan and that only exacerbated their disappointment.

Some fans fear Wigan won’t make the play-offs, it would only be the fourth time in history they did so, as they branded Wigan as average.
