The six players set to leave Huddersfield Giants as it stands

Huddersfield Giants

Huddersfield Giants have had a very peculiar season.

By mid-April, they’d hit 50+ on three separate occasions, and had made their way to the Challenge Cup semi-finals, 80 minutes from Wembley.

However, it must be hard to imagine that period of time for Giants fans now, with the team being in free-fall since then.

Despite bringing Luke Robinson in as interim coach, Huddersfield are still recording poor results too often – most recently going down 60-10 to Salford Red Devils.

A win over Castleford at Magic Weekend showed they’re far from being the worst team in the division. But, they’ll be without many of their best performers this season – with Luke Yates already making the switch to Warrington Wolves.

Who else is set to head out ahead of 2025?

Innes Senior has impressed on loan with Castleford Tigers, and this deal has been confirmed to be permanent from 2025, meaning we’ve seen the last of him in Giants colours.

Olly Russell will also be heading across West Yorkshire, with a huge four-year deal already signed with Wakefield Trinity, keeping him there through to the 2028 season, finally leaving after around 100 games for Huddersfield.

Meanwhile, centre Esan Marsters is on his way to join Paul Rowley’s Salford Red Devils next season after an excellent first couple of years in Super League.

Adam Milner could yet leave the club, with his contract up at the end of the year – although his contract does have a one-year extension that is yet to be triggered.

That doesn’t apply to Kevin Naiqama, who has been linked with a return to St Helens with the club probably in need of a centre, especially if Waqa Blake’s contract isn’t renewed.

Also likely leaving is Aidan McGowan, who has progressed through his hometown club’s ranks.

The 22-year-old may look to forge a career elsewhere.
