Kevin Sinfield finished his incredible 7 in 7 Challenge on Sunday, raising a total of over £1.3 million at the time of writing, with the event producing some iconic images.
It was the sixth annual fundraising challenge that Kevin Sinfield has undertaken, starting back in 2020 just a year after his friend and former Leeds Rhinos teammate Rob Burrow was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.
Ever since the announcement back in December 2019 that Burrow had been diagnosed with MND, Sinfield has found ways to raise funds and awareness to help combat the disease but also to help improve the quality of life of those living with the condition.
Over £11 million has been raised so far whilst awareness about MND is constantly growing as well. Perhaps the most significant part of Sinfield’s efforts has been the creation of the Rob Burrow Centre for MND with money raised via Sinfield’s challenges helping to fund construction.
That opened earlier in the year with Sinfield stating: “It’s a tangible piece within the campaign. It’s the bit that you can grab hold of and see and actually it’s bricks and mortar, but there are so many other bits and pieces like that when you’re providing wheelchairs for people and eye gaze machines.”
Plans for a seventh and final ‘7 in 7 Challenge’ have been confirmed but we’ve looked back at seven of the best images from the most recent effort, where the weather was firmly against Kevin Sinfield and his team.
