The voting has been revealed for the 2025 Rob Burrow Award, with Hull KR star Mikey Lewis winning man of the match by an overwhelming majority.
The Rob Burrow Award is given to the man of the match in the Super League Grand Final and is voted for by the members of the media. The award replaced the Harry Sunderland Trophy last year, with the prestigious award being renamed.
Lewis was the deserved winner of the trophy this year as his Hull KR side won 24-6 on Saturday night against Wigan Warriors to record an historic treble. The half-back was the chief protagonist in the victory, scoring the Robins’ first try of the game after slipping through a hole in the Wigan line in the first half.
And, he went on to keep his composure and control the game as Rovers became just the fifth team to win a Super League Grand Final, joining Wigan Warriors, St Helens, Leeds Rhinos and Bradford Bulls on that list.
Interestingly, though, of the 48 votes cast, Lewis collected just over half of them. A total of 25 members of the media voted for the England international, with seven of his teammates also getting selections.
Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and Jez Litten got seven votes each, with the former performing immensely through the middle of the park, while the latter changed the game when he came on.
James Batchelor picked up three votes, while Peta Hiku and Arthur Mourgue both got two votes a piece.
Joe Burgess and Elliot Minchella got a vote each on the night, with the skipper being the first ever Hull KR player to life the Super League trophy.
No Wigan man attracted any votes.
