2 match ban for Watts

Hull FC forward Liam Watts has been given a 2 match ban by the RFL disciplinary committee for the high tackle on Luke Gale that led to his sending off against Castleford on Sunday .

Watts pleaded not guilty to the Grade B charge for the tackle in the 22nd minute of Sundays game but was found guilty by the match review panel and given a 2 match ban with a fine of £300 . The prop will miss games against Warrington and Widnes , FC will also be without prop Scott Taylor for the Widnes game as he is in the England squad to take on Samoa .

Rochdales Jo Taira was given a one match ban and £100 fine for a Grade B striking charge , Jack Bussey from Toronto was given the same ban but a £75 fine for his Grade B striking charge . Daniel Samuel of Hemel was given a one match ban for for a Grade B charge of using foul and abusive language .

Joe Philbin of Warrington and Anthony Bate of Swinton used Early Guilty Pleas to escape a ban whilst Samir Tahraoui of Rochdale and Newcastle’s Jack Aldous used their EGP’s to keep their bans to the minimum of 2 and 1 game respectively .

Richard Lepori from Oldham was found not guilty of a Grade B contact with a match official charge .

As we revealed earlier Justin Carney’s Grade F charge for alleged “verbal abuse based on race/colour” has been adjourned until next week following a request from the Salford Red Devils.

The club have proposed the player will not compete in any fixture before his case his heard and the request was granted by the Chairman of the Operational Rules Tribunal.
