Wigan trio facing spell on sidelines

Wigan trio injured

Wigan Warriors have been dealt a triple injury blow following Friday’s 20-0 victory against Leigh Centurions in the Betfred Super League.

Wingers Joe Burgess and Lewis Tierney will miss four-to-six weeks after suffering ankle and knee injuries, meanwhile prop Ryan Sutton has an eye injury and will be out for a similar period.

The loss of both wingers is a major blow for head coach Shaun Wane with Dominic Manfredi also out for a lengthy spell, however the Warriors boss is looking on the bright side.

“We’ve got a few missing. None of the lads are long-term, they’re all four-to-six weeks but the good thing is we’ve got a few good kids coming in,” Wane told BBC Radio Manchester.
