Wigan leading the race for NRL forward

Joe Greenwood try

Wigan are believed to be leading the hunt for out-of-favour Gold Coast Titans second rower Joe Greenwood.

The former St Helens man has been targeted by Leeds Rhinos, Hull KR and Toronto Wolfpack but is reportedly favouring a move to the Warriors.

Greenwood scored four tries in 22 games for Gold Coast last season but is yet to make an appearance in 2018, instead plying his trade with their feeder club, the Burleigh Bears, in the Queensland Cup.

With the NRL regulars Will Matthews and Kevin Proctor above him in the Titans’ pecking order, the 25-year-old has now been told he is free to look for a new club for next season.

The Warriors are looking to bolster their forward pack after Ryan Sutton last week signed for Canberra Raiders, while John Bateman is also on the radar of numerous NRL clubs.
