Wigan great Brett Kenny battling cancer

Australian rugby league legend Brett Kenny has been diagnosed with lymphoma cancer.

The 1985 Lance Todd Trophy winner will undergo chemotherapy next week although, according to friends, the full extent of the cancer is not known yet.

Kenny played 265 games for Parramatta, winning four premierships, representing both Australia and New South Wales 17 times apiece.

He is famous in England for his masterclass in the 1985 Challenge Cup final when Wigan beat Hull in an all-time classic.
