Watts speaks out over McIlorum red card

Michael McIlorum leaves Wigan after a decade at the club.

Hull FC forward Liam Watts took to Twitter last night to thank people for their support after he escaped suspension for his red card against Wigan.

The incident, that saw Michael McIlorum knocked out after he shot out of the defensive line, has seen many former players condemn the decision to send off Watts for an instinctive act.

And to justify their complaints, the RFL Match Review Panel decided not to charge the FC front-rower who will be available for Lee Radford’s men this Thursday.

“Would just like to thank everyone for their support over the weekend and today, my phones been on melt down,” Watts said on his Twitter page.

“It’s a tough game and it’s never nice seeing anyone getting knocked out and I hope Mickey is fully fit for his game Sunday.

“It’s been put to bed now and I’m looking forward to getting out there Thursday in what will be our last home game of the season and what will be the most important game of the season also.

“Hope to see the biggest attendance so far this year. Thanks.”
