Taia confident of victory against Leeds

St Helens forward Zeb Taia has told a local newspaper that he’s confident his side can beat Leeds Rhinos, as long as they turn up with the right attitude.

This is Taia’s first season at the club after coming in from Gold Coast Titans in exchange for Joe Greenwood.

The former Catalans back-rower praised Leeds ahead of the Friday night fixture.

“I believe Leeds are one of the best sides in the competition and we will certainly not be taking them lightly,” Taia said to the St Helens Reporter.

They are a dangerous outfit but if we turn up with the right attitude and the right game plan, I’m confident we can come away with a win.”

Taia also mentioned the fact that a slip-up during the business end of the season could prove costly to teams currently in the top four, and those chasing a semi-final spot.

He added: “It is the tightest competition there has ever been and after only two rounds, apart from runaway leaders Castleford Tigers, no one else can really afford to drop points if they want to qualify for the semi-final stages.”
