“Strong possibility” Currie will play again this season says Smith

Good news for Warrington Wolves fans! Coach Tony Smith has confirmed that there’s a “strong possibility” Ben Currie will play again this season as the club battles for survival in the Qualifiers.

Currie suffered a knee injury in his second game back from cruciate ligament damage, which saw him out of action for ten months.

Smith has also said that the back-rower hasn’t ruled himself out of a World Cup spot, so getting game time before the end of the season is key for Currie.

“He needs to have some extensive rehab over the next month,” Smith told the Warrington Guardian.

“If he does that well, and he always throws himself into these things, there’s a real strong possibility he’ll be able to play the last couple of games.

“He’s obviously really keen to do that as he wants to put himself forward for the World Cup. He’s not ruled that out as a chance, so it’s really good news.”
