Castleford duo Luke Gale and Zak Hardaker are joined by Hull FC stand-off Albert Kelly in the three-man shortlist for the 2017 Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel award.
Bookies favourite Gale has been the architect of the Tigers’ incredible season but he faces tough competition from his teammate Hardaker.
The England full-back has rediscovered top form during his first season at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle and is aiming to win the award for a second time.
Hardaker claimed the Man of Steel trophy in 2015 when he was instrumental for Leeds Rhinos in their treble-winning season.
Meanwhile, FC playmaker Kelly will be the outsider for the award but is more than a worthy nominee having had an incredible first season for the black and whites.
The Steve Prescott Man of Steel is chosen by a poll of every Betfred Super League player and results will be made public after the event hosted in Manchester on Tuesday October 3.
The evening will also feature several other awards, including; Coach of the Year, Club of the Year, Foundation of the Year and Young Player of the Year.
