Rovers 16/1 for cup shock at Headingley

The Sky Cameras are at Headingley tonight for the cup quarter final between Leeds and Featherstone.

Leeds Coach Brian Mcdermott is taking no chances tonight and has named his strongest side available to take on the side from the Championship.
Jordan Baldwinson has been recalled to Leeds  but Cory Aston could play for Rovers against his parent club.

Leeds concede a massive 32 point start on the handicap in a game where we are not really deciding who wins but more by how many.

These 2 met in the middle 8 last year with Leeds running out 62-6 winners,  Rovers are going well in the Championship and sit 4th in the table but were badly beaten by London at the summer bash at the end of May.
They have had a creditable draw against Hull KR since then but this is a massive step up in class.
Leeds should win comfortably, the only worry being them taking their foot off the gas with the game won. Leeds though  have won both cup games so far this year, albeit against lower opposition than Featherstone, by more than tonight’s handicap and should cover it again tonight.
A winning margin of around 41-45 points is about where I see this ending up. Rovers fans can get odds of around 16/1 on their side pulling off a shock win but it’ll be Leeds joining Salford in the semi finals for me.
The weather seems set fair so that should send the total points over the current line of 58.5.

Hall and Briscoe head 1st try lists at around 6/1, I’d slightly favour Briscoe after his match winning tries last week. Top tryscorer for Rovers Ulugia is out so Ian Hardman at around 33/1 is the best value in a Rovers shirt , but I’d prefer the 7/2 on him anytime .

Finally the man of the match. In games like this there is a real chance of somebody scoring 4 or 5 tries and being given the award, Mcguire, Moon and Parcell head favouritism at around 8/1 but it could be worth looking at Liam Sutcliffe at 14/1 if he kicks better than he did last week his personal tally could be very high and hard to ignore.
Carl Ablett could weigh in with a few tries and he is definitely one to consider at 33/1, so it’s Ablett and Sutcliffe in a wide open market, where you can’t really discount anybody.

One other game tonight sees St Helens play their rearranged game against Huddersfield at the John Smiths Stadium .

The bookies make the Giants slight 8/11 favourites for this after their impressive win in France . Saints have been very inconsistent of late but had a routine home win over Widnes last week . Huddersfield are one of the form sides in Super League over recent weeks so are worthy favourites for a fixture that’s always tight . You could get a real run for your money on the draw at around 20/1 , the reverse fixture finished in a draw , but I think the Giants can just get home . The only doubt being the long trip back from Perpignan 6 days ago .

Wire v Wigan tomorrow as always please gamble responsibly .
