Winger given seven-year drugs ban

UK Anti-Doping have issued a seven-year ban to former South Wales Ironman player Ross Bevan after he refused to submit to testing in September last year.

The 24-year-old winger was banned for two years in February 2015 after testing positive for steroid drostanolone following a training session.

He was asked to submit to testing in September 2016 but his failure to do so has resulted in UKAD banning him from all forms of the professional game until January 2024.

Bevan joined League 1 club South Wales Ironmen (formerly Scorpions) in February 2015 from Rugby Union side Nelson but he never played for the club.
