Robbie Farah’s future decided

Robbie Farah will not be playing in Super League next season after South Sydney head coach Michael Maguire confirmed he would be staying at the club.

Rumours linked the former Kangaroos hooker with a move to Warrington, with Tony Smith still in the market for new players.

However, Maguire confirmed that the 33-year-old is still required at Redfern next season despite only starting 12 games this season.

“A lot of people have got the Robbie situation wrong,” said Maguire. “He’s been fantastic for us and yes, I’m sure he’d like to play more but the way we have been using him has been working for us.

“He’s also important in the development of Damien Cook. Cookie has been starting over Robbie because he is the future, but he has learned a lot from Robbie and will continue to do so next season.”
