‘MAGIC’ opener for weekend in Newcastle.

Magic Weekend betting

Toronto Wolfpack and Toulouse Olympique are booking their flights to Newcastle for the magic weekend after Super League clubs approve the decision of a seventh fixture.

Mark Foster, Super League’s general manager, said: “The Dacia Magic Weekend is a brilliant event which brings sports fans together to watch exciting, high impact rugby league and it’s fantastic that we have added an extra game to the fixture list.”

The Canadian and French outfits will play their first game in front of a Super League crowd, when they play the opening fixture of the weekend.

The Wolfpack were convincing winners of the League One title last season, giving them a shot at fellow professional clubs, in league fixtures, for the first time since they joined the league system. One such club looking to stop them in their tracks and fight for promotion is Toulouse Olympique who, last term, after a tough campaign were squeezed out the promotion reckoning by Halifax. They will be looking to break into that top 4 for the first time which makes this fixture one of the most mouthwatering in championship history.

Newcastle is the venue of the weekend of fixtures for the fourth successive season and will see the championship fixture take to the field at 12:45pm on Saturday May 19th.

The Hull derby is another eye turner after Hull KR’s recent promotion back to the Super League. The Wigan/St. Helens derby has been avoided once again leaving the two Cheshire outfits to be split up with Wigan facing Warrington and St. Helens taking on Widnes.

Super League Champions Leeds Rhinos will take on 2017 League Leaders Castleford Tigers and Wakefield Trinity will face rivals Huddersfield Giants in other all Yorkshire ties. Leaving Salford to face the second French team on show over the weekend, Catalans Dragons.
