London denied by Featherstone fightback

Ian Hardman kicked a 79th minute touchline conversion as Featherstone came back from 32-22 down to claim a draw at Trailfinders Sports Ground.

London raced into a 14-0 lead with tries from Jay Pitts, Elliot Kear and William Barthau all crossed, but John Duffy’s side responded through Connor Farrell, Luke Briscoe and John Davies’ double either side of the break.

Andrew Henderson managed to gather his troops with Jarrod Sammut, Mark Ioane and Andy Ackers grabbing tries to give the Broncos a 10-point advantage.

But in the final 10 minutes Featherstone rallied through Luke Briscoe and Chris Ulugia crossed in the final moments to give Hardman the chance to level the scores.

The full back couldn’t have hit the ball any better as he nailed the kick from out wide as both sides claimed their first point of the Qualifiers campaign.
