Leeds Rhinos announce Luke Briscoe loan signing from Featherstone

Leeds Rhinos have signed Featherstone Rovers winger Luke Briscoe on a loan deal till the end of the season.

Briscoe has had a remarkable season for the Rovers this year and he equalled a rugby league record by tying Eric Harris’ feat of 17 consecutive try-scoring games.

The former Hunslet loanee leads the Championship try-scoring charts with 21.

Briscoe joins his brother and fellow winger Tom at Emerald Headingley and will be hoping to continue his great form in the top tier.

Gary Hetherington, Leeds Rhinos Chief Executive said: “Firstly we would like to thank Featherstone, who we have an excellent relationship with, and I am really pleased Luke has the opportunity to play again for the Rhinos in such an important Super League fixture,”

“This is a good example of how a young player can go from playing in Super League to the Championship and still continue his development and potential.  Luke’s try scoring exploits in the Championship this season have been exceptional.”

Briscoe can be recalled by the Rovers on dual-registration terms.
