Leeds linked with Cronulla's Luke Lewis

Reports down under suggest that Leeds are interested in signing Cronulla Sharks’ second-rower Luke Lewis as part of a swap deal for James Segeyaro.

Since walking out on the Rhinos, Chief Executive Gary Hetherington has put a massive transfer fee on Segeyaro’s head which has put NRL club’s off making a bid for the hooker.

Despite this, Cronulla have been the favourites to sign the PNG international since announcing that he won’t be returning to England, and this latest news may suit both clubs.

The Sharks have arrived in England today as they prepare for Sunday’s World Club Challenge against Wigan, which may pave the way for talks with Leeds about the potential swap deal.

Lewis, 33, has a wealth of experience including 16 tests for Australia and 17 appearances for New South Wales.
