Hull KR set to sign Justin Carney

The Mirror are reporting that Salford Red Devils winger Justin Carney is set to sign for Hull Kingston Rovers.

Carney is three games into an eight-match ban after admitting to racial abuse during the recent Challenge Cup match against Toronto Wolfpack.

His ban will finish before the Super 8s Qualifiers giving Rovers and Carney the chance to return to Super League for the 2018 season.

The 28-year-old’s departure will free up space on the cap and allow Salford to land Irish international James Hasson from Down Under according to the Mirror.

After leaving Castleford under a cloud to join the Red Devils at the end of 2015, it seems the winger will now depart the AJ Bell Stadium in a similar vain as he looks for another fresh start.

Often a controversial character, Carney’s talents on the pitch can’t go unnoticed with his direct running style and prolific scoring record set to aid the Robins bid for promotion.
