Turner set for Super League return

Jordan Turner will return to Super League within the next month as Canberra look to streamline their squad before the June 30 transfer deadline.

The 28-year-old joined the Raiders prior to this season after four years at St Helens but has failed to make a single appearance for the Green Machine.

An announcement is expected very shortly with Warrington, Salford, Huddersfield and Wakefield leading the race to sign Turner according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

The Oldham born centre started his career at Salford, establishing himself in the team for two seasons before joining Hull FC at the start of the 2010 campaign.

Featuring at both centre and stand-off for the Black and Whites, Turner appeared twice for the England Knights in 2012 before signing a two-year deal with St Helens prior to the 2013 season.

During his time with the RedVee he scored 61 tries in 119 appearances, impressing during his final season at the club contributing with 14 assists.

Despite the success of former Super League stars Josh Hodgson and Elliot Whitehead at Canberra, Turner has not been given a chance by head coach Ricky Stuart this season.

Having signed a two-year contract at the club, the Waterhead junior will be released from his contract with a Super League bidding war expected for Turner’s services.
