Four Super League players banned

Four Super League players banned

Four of the eight players cited by the RFL Match Review Panel this week have been handed suspensions.

Leeds captain Danny McGuire was given a one-match ban after pleading guilty to using foul language towards a match official during the game against Castleford on Friday night.

McGuire’s team-mate Jamie Jones-Buchanan has also been banned for one match after he was found guilty of striking with the shoulder in the same game.

Widnes scrum-half Rangi Chase was also found guilty of striking with the shoulder and has been banned for two matches.

The other player banned this week is St Helens centre Mark Percival who despite having his Grade C charge for other contrary behaviour downgraded, was still found guilty and banned for one match.

Catalans full-back Tony Gigot escaped suspension after he was found not guilty of disputing a referees decision using aggressive body language.

The other three players charged this week (Willie Isa, Chris Annakin and Brad Fash) opted to use their early guilty plea and have all escaped suspensions.
