Former Super League prop joins Whitehaven; will play for free

Whitehaven have announced the signing of former Super League prop forward Paul Wood, who will play for the club for free.

Wood brings a major boost to the Cumbrians and gives real fire power to their forward pack.

The experienced forward has had an illustrious career, winning the Challenge Cup twice with Warrington Wolves where he played for 15 years.

He moved from Warrington to Featherstone Rovers in 2015 before taking up a coaching role with Leigh Centurions.

Wood has recently been part of the Rugby AM team but this shock announcement sees him make a return to the professional game.

He is available to play in Haven’s next match against Bradford Bulls on Sunday.
