Leeds Rhinos Brett Ferres has been found guilty of a Grade E Dangerous Contact charge and banned for six matches.

Ferres has received heavy criticism for the crusher tackle on Oliver Gildart, with the Wigan centre facing three months on the sidelines having fractured three vertebrae.

The Rhinos are currently without Brad Singleton who is in the process of serving his own six-match ban for an elbow on Catalans forward Greg Bird.

Elsewhere,¬†Jamie Acton has been given a one-match ban for Dangerous Contact during Leigh Centurions’ match against Widnes Vikings on Saturday.
