Featherstone sign Saints hooker

Featherstone Rovers have signed St Helens hooker Aaron Smith on an initial one-month loan.

The 21-year-old is yet to make his debut for Saints, but made three Super League appearances earlier this year while on loan at Hull KR, after previously impressing for York City Knights in League 1.

Featherstone coach John Duffy said: “We have been looking to strengthen the squad for a number of weeks and we are low on pivots at the moment.

“Aaron has spent some time with Hull KR this season and comes with a great reputation.

“He is a dynamic player with plenty of pace and will fit in very well here.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mike Rush and Paul Wellens for allowing the deal to come together so quickly.”
