Sheffield Eagles beat Oldham 42-28 in a real Jekyll and Hyde performance from Mark Aston’s men. Garry Lo starred with another hat-trick to add to his ever-growing collection.
Oldham got the first try of the contest through Adam Clay but Sheffield bounced back well with four pointers from Scott Wheeldon and Menzie Yere. The visitors regained their lead courtesy of Michael Ward but, once again, the Eagles answered back. Tries from Will Hope, Jack Owens and Garry Lo gave the South Yorkshire club a 28-12 half-time lead.
After the restart, they furthered their advantage through Jake Spedding and Lo but Oldham soon found their fighting spirit and started to give Sheffield a fright. Luke Adamson, George Tyson and Connor Williams brought the deficit to ten points before Lo completed his hat-trick in the last few minutes to seal the win.
