Bradford Bulls’ chances of escaping the Championship relegation zone have been made even slimmer after losing 23-16 to Batley Bulldogs at the Fox’s Biscuits Stadium.
Nothing could separate the two sides at the break as they cancelled each other out with the score at 4-4. Joe Keyes opened the scoring for the Bulls before Alex Bretherton replied for Batley.
In the second half, Ed Chamberlain got on the scoresheet as the visitors restored their advantage. However, tries from Pat Walker and Dave Scott gave Batley a six point lead heading into the final quarter. Iliess Macani’s converted try levelled matters once again but it was the Bulldogs who had the last laugh. Scott scored his second try of proceedings before Dom Brambani struck a last minute drop goal to seal the win.
