Doc and Dec go before Judge Rinder

Koukash Beaumont Judge Rinder

Salford owner Marwan Koukash and Leigh supremo Derek Beaumont are to appear on ITV show Judge Rinder to sort out once and for all the controversy surrounding Gareth Hock’s participation in the Challenge Cup game between the two sides in 2015.

It was believed at the time that Hock’s transfer to the Centurions from the Red Devils contained a clause stopping him from playing against his former club in the sixth Round tie. However, we exclusively revealed at SARL there was a mistake in the wording of the contract and the then Leigh Coach Paul Rowley named the forward in his squad as the Centurions went on to knock the Super League side out of the competition.

Leigh, who were a Championship club at the time, went on to reach the quarter-finals where they were knocked out by Warrington Wolves.

Beaumont told the clubs website: “Whilst Marwan and me are good friends now, it didn’t start that way with the business over Gaz.

“Whilst we resolved that to a point, there was always a slight niggle that we had put to one side.

“So when the opportunity came about it was good to take it up to see how it would be perceived by a judge and who better than Judge Rinder?

“It was great to have a bit of fun whilst resolving a genuine issue and to be able to do it in an informal way that brings some attention to the game of Rugby League to a massive mainstream daytime audience.

“It is well known we are both outspoken and not shy of the cameras and that we do our best to create attention for our great game.”

The two are also locked in a charity raising weight loss battle which will be settled at the Magic Weekend in Newcastle. The show will be broadcast on Tuesday 25th April at 2pm on ITV1.

Do these 2 clowns think rugby league is a joke or something? Marwan craves the publicity so it’s obvious he’d rather go on telly than to an ordinary court.
