Crystal Collins apologises after Kiwis anthem nightmare

Crystal Collins, the singer who went viral after butchering the New Zealand national anthem on Saturday, has apologised for her performance.

Collins spoke to New Zealand radio station Radio Sport days after her nightmare showing at the Mile High Stadium.

She had performed God Save The Queen acapella but the Kiwis anthem came on with a backing track, something she couldn’t hear.

“I would like to apologise to you and the citizens of New Zealand,” Collins said.

“I didn’t have a chance to hear what the monitor would be like before the New Zealand anthem started. I could hear nothing at all.

“I was waiting for the introduction, but there was none.”

Collins was given a chance to sing the anthem on the radio station, and she did so in Maori.

Suffice to say, it was better than Saturday’s rendition!
