Chase part of internal investigation

Rangi Chase Widnes

Castleford have dropped Rangi Chase for this Thursday’s Betfred Super League clash against Leeds with the club revealing he was part of an internal investigation.

The Tigers will not be making any further comment surrounding the issue at the present moment.

Chase is never far from the headlines and was suspended by former club Salford Red Devils for off-the-field indiscretions in 2015.

The half-back then walked away from rugby league in May last year when he departed Leigh Centurions, before returning to Castleford in July.

Speaking today, Tigers CEO Steve Gill said: “Rangi was part of an investigation that has been dealt with internally by the club, neither Rangi Chase or the Castleford Tigers will make any further comment on this issue.”
